A Health Certificate is required to climb Mount Ijen.
All visitors to Mount Ijen must show a doctor’s health certificate before entering.
Required since January 2024.
Must state you are fit to hike and free from asthma, heart disease, or serious illness.
Checked at the entrance gate before climbing.
Without a valid health certificate, entry is not allowed.
You can get one at a small clinic near the hostel or on the way to Ijen. It usually costs around Rp 30K–50K.
